Infininverso

about

If “Ijesha drive” sets the ‘conceptual’ tone of the album, “Infininverso” does the same on an emotional level. Here we have musical elements that didn’t belong together in terms of time and space but ended up telling a beautiful story of love for humankind (not exactly in a very explicit way, as we shall see).
As I was thinking about the whole planet Earth, all of its people, different beliefs and lifestyles and struggles and blessings...I wanted this track to convey two distinct vibes or emotions. Right in the beginning we have a more mysterious and mystical vibe with the sounds of the heavy drum loop - dinosaurs walking on an ealy stage Earth?!; the slide bowed infinite sustained electric guitar; the fast rhythmic synth sound; and the manipulated found sound (I don’t remember what it is) that act as a drone. Then...a sweeter sound comes into play and starts to change the whole atmosphere of the track. Although it sounds like an Indian harmonium, in reality it’s a field recording of a Brazilian viola caipira (a 10 string folk guitar) played backwards. I remember editing this sound and being amazed by how the sound of a Brazilian instrument turned into the sound of an Indian instrument when played backwards! I can’t put my finger on it, but I think there’s a lot to think about! Both are instruments that are very important for the musical tradition of their respective countries...it’s like we’re dealing here with the essence of some Ancient cultures and how they are all connected in some way, how they must have emerged from the same bed in the history of creation…
Well, back to the track, when the viola/harmonium enters, little by little the mood of the track changes into a sweeter atmosphere. Still mystical and maybe mysterious, but with a lighter vibe, something to do with hope I guess. Now one can hear Brazilian melodies from the viola/harmonium that are picked up by the guitar. The guitar then starts to play around with some Brazilian psy-folk melodies until the first vibe of the track starts to make a comeback just to be juxtaposed with this more sweet vibe.
From here, all elements of the track start to dance, talk and play along themselves like a kind of a Babel Tower full of hope and love...or a mysterious ballet that tries to count every story from every human tradition that’s ever been on Earth.
Well...it just occurred to me that this track is all about universal love, hope and communion. With sounds I’m saying that we all can AND SHOULD live together side by side multiplying our energies towards the fulfillment of the utmost goal of...again...universal love.
As always, I’d like you to pardon my far-from-perfect-English and ask you to help me out with that. I chose to write almost all of my material in English in order to talk to every country and not just mine. But I knew that it wouldn’t be easy...but I took the risk in order to try to touch people’s lives with my music. And that’s the universal language, but I still need some words here and there…:-) All the best from Brazil to the world!
