This track is my humble and sincere tribute to the late Senegalese master of percussion Doudou N’Diaye Rose. I didn’t try by any means imitate nothing he has done, but tried to express the impact that the listening of his album “Djabote” had on me several years ago. I was very impressed by the expressiveness of his music and his absolute command of his ensemble that played like one musician...or he played as his instrument. For me it was like seeing a flock of birds that despite the large number of individuals behave almost like one being. It tells a lot about being human...the oneness...how we’re all connected with ourselves and with our environment.
In terms of performance, that’s me playing the sounds in a keyboard controller mostly live, but with added subtle layers of ambience and other instruments.
